Burning trees cast off thousands of embers early December at the Bond Fire off Santiago Canyon Rd in Orange, County, CA. This Santa Ana wind event started late in the evening, and I made this image around 3 am while scrambling to operate the camera, setup the tripod, and shield myself from the heat being flung at me.
