Pearblossom Highway, Llano, 2017

This image is somewhat of a tribute to the artist David Hockney, whose 1986 photo collage captures the scenery and feel of the Mojave desert. Highway 138 is a two-lane state highway that connects the Highway 14/Antelope Valley Corridor to San Bernardino and the Interstate 15 corridor. It's a heavily trafficked road on the north side of the Angeles National Forest, and eventually some of it will be bypassed when Highway 58 to the north is updated to Interstate standards. It's a beautiful drive this time of year, with towns like Llano, Wrightwood, Phelan, and the Four Aces Movies set all within the vicinity.
